A warm home, and good company

Hillsworth Homestead is our owner-occupied rural home in the Whangaehu Valley, about fifteen minutes east of Masterton. We offer full board and a place at the table for a few older adults who are perfectly able to live independently, but would simply rather not live alone. If that sounds like you, or someone you love, we would be glad to hear from you.

What Hillsworth is

It is a real home with real meals and real company, not a care home. You keep your independence and your own routine. Any help you arrange from outside comes to you here, exactly as it would in your own home. There is a wide veranda, a big shared table, a garden, and yes, a farm dog.

We sit in the gap between living on your own and moving into care: safety, meals, and company, without losing your independence, and at a simple, fair weekly price.

What is included

  • Your own furnished room.
  • All meals, with a cooked dinner at a shared table each evening.
  • Everyday tea, coffee and snacks, always there to help yourself.
  • All the running costs: power, heating, water and internet.
  • Cleaning of the shared areas, and the bed linen and towels laundered.
  • Good company, and a well-run home with no bills to sort.

Hillsworth is a smoke-free home, and you will need your own car, as we are rural.
